Hello!  I am home from vacation!  Although I really miss the beach, I am glad to be back home and am ready to spend the next 8 weeks with my little girl and  husband!!

I have tried to keep up as best I could with the blog world while I was gone.  My daughter thinks the iPad is hers, so I usually only get to use it when she is sleeping!

Vacation.....blog break....

I'm on vacation at the beach until the 29th. I wanted to let everyone know why I've been MIA the last several days. I plan to post my giveaway when I return. I also wanted everyone to know that I've made the switch to Bloglivin'. Please consider following me there!!!

Final work day....and I'm moving schools!!

Tomorrow is my last work day until the end of August. And that means its the only thing standing in the way of me being at the beach!

I found out yesterday afternoon that I will be changing schools this year. I'm very excited because it means I get to teach kindergarten and will hopefully not have to be hopped around each year.  

Have you ever changed schools?  This is my first move so I'm learning to purge and clean as I go. I will take some pictures in the morning and update my post.

Hi all!

I have noticed that most of you are already out on summer vacation.  I have 2 half days and a teacher work day until my toes are in the sand for 2 WEEKS at the beach!!  I am so excited, I can't wait.  My first graders this year have been amazing.  As much as I have fussed about changing grade levels in the past, the knowledge of expectations in each grade (k, 1, 2) has helped me to teach my students even more this year.  They are always elated to hear me say, "this is second grade work!"

Yikes!

I'm sorry to have been away for so long.  I am trying to enjoy a little pre-summer break. I have 2 full days. And 2 half day with students then a teacher work day on Friday. Saturday, my husband, daughter, and I leave for the beach (Outer Banks) for 2 weeks!!!! Yea this is why I am so excited/flustered. I have a lot of packing to do in my classroom plus the work to do at home. 

We have been fighting ants at home. It has been a very wet couple of weeks and the ants will not go way. I have a dog and toddler so I will not use pesticides to spray around the outside of the house. Do you ever have this problem?  What have you done to get rid of the ants without pesticides??

I do plan to take some picture do my room tomorrow to share. I have to pack as if I am leaving my room because it doesn't look like I'll be teaching k or 1 next year (or 2 at that matter).  I might be experiencing a new grade level all together. Have you been in my shoes (changing grades/classrooms each year)?  Please share!!

June Monthly Goals

I am linking up with I {heart} Recess to share my goals for June. 

Since my husband is a teacher too, we will spend 2-3 weeks at the beach once school gets out.  We LOVE the beach!!!  We will spend a lot of time with each other since we are so busy during the school year.  Our daughter will have a fun summer too!

I am excited about my reading projects.  I read Guided Reading last summer but plan to review it during the blog book study this summer.  I am looking forward to reading and reflecting (through the blog world) on Guided Math and How to Teach Like a Pirate.
