A Few New Products - Check them Out!

Hey guys!  I have been hard at work so that my kiddos can be engaged in their learning.  I'd love for you to check out a few of my new products I've posted.  Leave me a comment and let me know how you would use them and you might get a surprise!! Just don't forget your email address.

This is a very fun games that the kids love to play with a partner.  They are learning how to quickly and easily recognize a number by looking at 2 different parts (on the picture and off the picture).  Check out the preview for a special treat too! :)

I made this pack for my kids to practice reading/recognizing sight words, spelling sight words, and also practice their handwriting skills.  Our county is putting a lot of emphasis on handwriting and spelling with a program called Fundations by Wilson. I am in the process of writing a post about it and the influence it has had on my students this year.

Well, I hope you will visit my store to check out these 2 new packs.  I am planning to add more to the Write the Room Pack as my students need it this year.  Stay tuned for updates!!

Happy Monday!

My Truth Monday - {LINKY}

I just found this linky over at Sunny Days in Second Grade and have really enjoyed reading other's "truths" the past couple of weeks.  Here's my truth for today:

I absolutely love my job and am so thankful to be a teacher.  Everyday I tell my students I love them and show them that I truly do care about them.   You should do the same!!!

Now go see what everyone else says about becoming a teacher!

A Peek at my Week {11-4} Nursery Rhymes Part 2

I'm here to link up with Deedee and Mrs. Laffin's Laughings for a Peek at this Week!
This week we only have 4 days.  Tuesday is our Parent/Teacher Conference day so the kids do not come to school.  You can click on my plans to open the PDF in Google Docs.  I'm really going to try to blog at the end of the week with pictures to show the fun we had.  My kids are making puppets for each nursery rhyme and I'm going to teach them how to use the puppet theater with them.  They are so excited!

For the most part, my math stations are staying the same.  We are going to begin practicing addition with the game On/Off.  This is a very easy game.  I'll get a picture for you for next week.  But you simply give the kids an 8.5x11 sheet with a picture on it (ie a pumpkin or an apple or a turkey).  They hold 5 beans in their hand (or whatever number you'd like them to work on) and "roll" the beans on the page.  They count how many beans landed on the picture and how many landed off.  They record their answer to see multiple ways to make the number 5.
****UPDATE - I have made my November On/Off Pack.******
It is only $1.00.  BUT......you can get a copy of the recording page from the preview PDF.  Just go {HERE} and click on the preview to get your freebie.  Try it out.  If you like it, come back and get the pack that includes the directions of how I use it, an I can chart and 4 different pictures (the same as the 4 on the front cover) in black and white and color so you could save on your printer ink!

Here's what it looks like:

Ok, so hop over and check out these great linky parties to see what others are doing this week.

November Currently

Wow!  Where has the first nine weeks of school gone?  I feel like we just started but Friday was the end of our first quarter.  It is very hard to believe!!  I'm linking up with Farley for this months currently.

Listening:  My daughter is watching TV before her nap.  She LOVES Caillou!  I think this is what I was listening to last month too.

Loving:  I am always happy when I get to be home with my family.  We have so much fun together and this weekend we will decorate for Christmas/Winter!! :)  I know what your saying..."this girl is crazy....it's not even Thanksgiving yet!"  But we absolutely love Christmas in our house!  We leave it decorated until the first of January!

Thinking: I've had several ideas of new products for both November and December.  I am so elated that my Fall Math Stations pack has done so well.  I never imagined that I would have sold so many copies.

Wanting:  I am in need of a nap!  But I have a lot of other work that needs done too!!

Needing:  Yes...cleaning is the other work that needs to get done.  I will be busy with laundry, dishes and scrubbing.  The latter is my least favorite!

Yummy Pin: http://www.pinterest.com/pin/530369293588467427/  This is the pin on Pinterest that you have to check out
Skinny girl spinach & artichoke dip... Have to try!

This dip looks amazing.  It is from Gina's Skinny Recipes.

Ok, your turn to link up.  Head on over to Farley's page and see what everyone else is up to.

Oh' boy fourth grade

Happy Saturday!!

A Peek at My Week - a little late!

Sorry to be late but here is a Peek at my {Nursery Rhyme (Part 1)} Week.   I'm linking up with Mrs. Wills Kindergarten  and Mrs. Laffin's Laughings.

We are learning about nursery rhymes this week and next.  My kids are doing a really nice job in their centers and are blowing me away during our math time.  If you aren't doing Math Work Stations (Debbie Diller's philosophy) then you need to start ASAP!!!!

You can click any of these pictures to get a look at my plans in the PDF from Google Drive.  There are links to the math journals and writing unit.  Sorry to not have other pictures for the activities.  I'll try to share some more this week too!

Today we had an amazing time during whole group math.  We have been talking about number sense and how to represent numbers in multiple ways.  They are really beginning to get the hang of this whole idea.  I am super impressed that we are only 1 quarter of the way in to this school year and they are so far along already! YAY!!!  I'll take some pictures tomorrow to share of the posters that they made.  I was overall VERY pleased with their thinking and how they represented their number.  We will hang these posters in the classroom to reference for the months to come.

Now go check out what everyone else is doing this week!

So, have a great rest of the week. I hope to be back before Friday to share some other ideas from our class!!  Toodles!

A Peek at my Week {10-21-13}

Hi!  I hope you have had a fabulous weekend and are recuperated and ready for you littles tomorrow!  I'm here to share with you my plans for this week.
It's APPLE time!  I love teaching about the life cycle of the apple tree and most importantly....I LOVE MAKING APPLE PIES!!!  The kids absolutely love being able to measure ingredients, mix, wait all day and then finally eat the delicious pies that we made!  The excitement will happen this Friday in our room.   I can't wait!!
So here's a peek.  You can click any picture to download the plans from Google Drive.  Be sure to check back throughout the week as I will hopefully post lots of pictures of our apple learning.

I will also try to get together some freebies this week that I am using in my math stations.  Like the brightlinks station and graphing station.  They are both very simple and were easy to make (no big details) but I know that it's hard to find that time to sit down and do it.
And again, I have included pictures of my students working at the math stations since some of the things I have either created and can't share or I'm not sure where I got them from.  If it's you....please let me know so I can give proper credit.   As for the other main lesson plans, I included the links for the 2 products that I use daily (Math Journals and Writer's Workshop).  Be sure to check them out.  They are amazing!!  So if you see something else that you like in the plans, I'm terribly sorry that I can't share it.
Ok...enough from me...head over to Mrs. Wills Kindergarten and check out what everyone else will be doing this week!  Have a wonderful week!!
